A website is an important thing for every band to have. You want people to be able to easily find everything that they are looking for without getting frustrated and just leaving your page. We have some advice on how to clean up your band’s website without even using coding! We know, exciting!
You want to have a clear focus, especially when it comes to your home page. Figure out what is important to promote. This is going to be the first thing that they see. If you have a really important gig coming up or you’re getting ready to release an album, that would be the place to put it.
Make your website navigation simple. You don’t want 100 tabs for people to click on so they can’t find anything. Keep it short and sweet. Allow them to find your bio, pictures & media, contact information, tour info and merch.
You want to make it as easy as possible for your fan to be able to buy your music. That is what is going to keel people coming back to your shows. The more people that buy your music, the better.
Make sure you make it clear where to sign up for your e-mail list as well as how people can contact you. If a venue or anyone in the industry wants to contact you, don’t make them search around looking for a way to reach out to you. Make it in plain sight.
It’s great that your friends and your fans take photos of you, but you really want professional and high quality photos on your website. Not only do they look better, but they look more professional. Remember, you are trying to sell yourself.
Remember, less is more. You don’t want to over clutter your page with way too many things that people don’t even know what they are looking at when they first get to your website. You don’t want it to be too distracting. A nice clean website will always work best.
